Email Rerouting Solution for Email Signatures
Xink is the most advanced and comprehensive email signature cloud solution on the market. We offer literally every means possible to control your email signature for all of your branding and campaign needs.
Recently we launched our Developer API, which makes it possible to link your email signature solution with other platforms and applications, based on your own needs. Integrate your email platform with your own internal systems or with a third-party application, like Salesforce.com (this is a particularly popular integration). Whichever describes your needs, our Developer API makes it easy to do so.
Our email rerouting solution, which has been designed specifically to work with apps, makes it super easy to only select the options you need for email signature control. Here is an some examples of how email rerouting app can be used in a Xink environment:
Scenario: Company A is using Office 365 and has 3,000 users. These users are using both Outlook 2013 and 2010, with OWA365 on the web. Moreover, they use iPhones for their mobility needs.
Solution: Connect using Xink’s OWA 365 integration app, as well as the Outlook client app, to make email signatures visible in Outlook when composing the email. On iPhone, the company uses the native iPhone email app. In this case the Xink email rerouting app is needed to support this native iPhone email app.
Let’s dwell at this example for a moment and let’s talk iPhone!
How to Support the Native Email App on iPhone – For Real!
So why don’t we support the native email app on iPhone for writing email signatures? Often we hear the question, “When I open up my email on my iPhone, I still see (Sent from my iPhone).” Why doesn’t Xink work in this situation?
Well, it is quite easy to explain. The native iPhone email app does not support, or enable, control over the email signature by any standard means. It’s that simple.
This means that there is no other way to change the signature in the native iPhone email app expect by doing it manually in your iPhone’s settings. And clearly, this method does not give you company logos or the dynamic abilities that you expect of today’s email signatures unless you know a lot of Ninja tricks.
Unfortunately, the native email app for iPhone is not the only platform where we experience these problems. Even the native email app on Windows phones does not support an update of the email signature from “outside” the system; this can only be done from within the phone itself. As of today, you can only change email signatures in the native iPhone email app in your local settings, as seen below:
To put it mildly, this is a challenge, particularly when we’re providing email signature solutions. Far too often, we are blamed when changing the signature on iPhones and Windows phones fails to work. We’re here to tell you now that it doesn’t work because of things that we are not in control of! But there is a solution… email rerouting!
Launching Email Rerouting Option for Email Signature Control
The difficulty of setting email signatures on iPhones and Windows phones has led to us at Xink launching an additional option (we call it a Xink app). This solution is an email rerouting option that can be used in addition to our other services. How does it work? See the nuts and bolts in this Infographic:
I’d have to say myself that this solution is quite clever! Not only do we still support all of the native email applications on the market, such as Outlook for Windows and Mac, but we let you keep things exactly as you want. We understand that you want to be able to see the email signature when composing your email. This provides that option without any email rerouting.
In cases where it is not possible to see the email signature while composing your email (for the reasons explained above – see iPhones and Windows phones), you can reroute your emails through our regional servers. In doing so, you can ensure that your full branding initiatives are in place and visible, no matter which app you use or where you sent the email from. This Xink email rerouting app will work pretty much just out-of-the-box.
So in essence, we take the best of both worlds:
1. Let the user see the email signature while composing the email (when this is possible), and
2. Add the email signature while rerouting the email through Xink’s servers (in cases where the email signature is not visible).
With these two options combined, you get the best of everything! Violá!
Combine other Xink Apps as you Wish with Email Rerouting
At Xink, we don’t want to force you to use a specific method. True, you can choose the email reroute option for all your emails if you wish. This will be extremely easy to set up and configure. However, you will still be stuck with the current email signatures people have – you will be able to add new ones, but you won’t be able to get rid of the existing signatures. This might not be what you want.
Our recommended setup is to combine the Xink apps you need with the Xink Email reroute app, so you get the best experience for all of your users. It is, after all, they who are sending the emails. So if it’s possible, you should give them the option to see what they are actually sending out, right?
